Kabuki Digital and THQ® Inc. have tapped former Nine Inch Nails founder CHRIS VRENNA

to remix the first single from the original music soundtrack to the just released BMX game TOXIC GRINDä exclusive for the Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft. The single will be available as an exclusive bonus track on the soundtrack CD.

CHRIS VRENNA is the famed producer and remixer noted for his work remixing U2 for the movie Tomb Raider, P.O.D. for the movie Scorpion King and Gavin Rossdale of BUSH for the movie xXx as well as producing and remixing artists including Weezer, Rob Zombie, Cold, Nelly Furtado, Adema, and Green Day. This is Vrenna’s first foray into remixing a song for a video game.

“I had a great time doing the remix”, says Vrenna. “Mesmer remixed one of the songs I did for the game American McGee’s Alice, and I felt a trade was in order. Having them appear as bonus tracks on the soundtracks seems like a nice thing to add. It’s cool that regular record producers are doing this kind of thing more often.”

The original music score was composed by MESMER (A/K/A Peter Reardon) who is best known for his work in the hip hop and rock world with artists including Ol’ Dirty Bastard (Wu Tang Clan), Barenaked Ladies, Tweaker, Geto Boys, Scarface, Insane Clown Posse, Josh Wink and Control Machete vs. Buena Vista Social Club.

The Toxic Grind soundtrack is available Kabuki Digital Records at www.waxploitation.com/store among other traditional retail outlets.

Mesmer will be making a number of appearances on behalf of the game, including an appearance on TechTV in December. Additionally, Sonic Foundry will be offering a remix contest of the score on their ACIDplanet.com site.
