JESPER KYD, the acclaimed music composer of the award-winning Hitman series, today announced he has composed and produced the music for the upcoming title Freedom Fighters, a third person action adventure for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC, developed by IO Interactive, the makers of the Hitman series, and published by Electronic Arts.

The game’s soundtrack, now available to order on CD exclusively from www.music4games.net/freedomfighters.html, is composed by Kyd and features a rousing choral performance by the Hungarian Radio Choir. European novelist Gaelle Obiegly wrote the Russian lyrics for all the choir tracks. The score was mixed and edited at Kyd’s Manhattan studio, Nano Studios NYC.

"The Hungarian Radio Choir is simply fantastic", said Kyd, who previously recorded with the Budapest Radio Symphony Orchestra and Choir for Hitman: Silent Assassin 2, "We have combined this powerful live choir with techno beats and other electronic instruments for a very unique sounding score".

In Freedom Fighters, the game’s protagonist is an American civilian, who becomes a freedom fighter, forced to action by an invasion of the United States. "The game is about Manhattan being invaded by an enemy army and so the score is quite emotional", Kyd added.

A veteran of composing music for computer and video games, Kyd’s roots go back to the Commodore 64 scene in 1985-1988 and he was a major force in the European Amiga demo scene from 1988-1993.
